Here. Here. Very good heartfelt post. I feel exactly the same way. How stupid is West Virginia? Why do we continually vote against our own interests? The choice should be clear but yet, it is not! We are worse off now that in any point in my lifetime, and while Obama might not have the right answers, at least his solutions are different than what we know won’t work, which is what McCain plans to continue. Why do we continually believe the hype that comes straight from the coal companies that Obama is the terrorist, socialist, muslim antichrist? Are we really that close-minded and afraid of change, or have the coal companies finally succeeded in buying the people of West Virginia?

on the other hand i can imagine that his lip service (face to arse) for the coal company will not go unrewarded, and he won’t have to reconcile a paradigm shift in his values. perhaps a nice cottage atop a ‘reclaimed’ plateau? i am looking forward to staying tuned.

what goes around comes around, eh? i hope they drag their feet helping this man out, unless he goes public with his change of heart.

denny that is probably a violation of the clean water act non degradation laws. also If there are any endangered or threatened freshwater mussels or minnows or darters downstream or nearby you can probably find someone to sue the state for violation of the ESA.

Denny nice work. These problems will endure for many many many years to come.

In a perfect world, we would view the stream on the right as impacted or polluted. It appears that it’s channel is much larger than the flow, and that usually happens as forests are cut or roads are built that channelize existing stream flow. But it is nothing compared to the toxic orange death popping out of the ground there. What a contrast. These coal guys should be forced to drink this water.
